It seems like if there’s an injured bird, it happens on my place, lol

First was a junco that ended up having his one leg broke in 2. I found him flapping around in the cold water in a low area in my yard. He couldn’t fly so I took him to my vet, they only charged me $25 and made a cast out of a wooden swap stick and some tape. He had to stand on his broken leg and it looked like he was in pain, so I cut a small block of wood, put some wash cloth on it, then I thought, how can I get him to sit on it. I walked away and in 5 min he was on it, on his chest with his leg hanging down. He sat on it for about 4 weeks. He was a successful release, before I released him, I colored 2 of his white tail feathers with a red sharpie, we saw him with reunited with a female Junco before they all left in the late spring, And he hung out by my bird feeder for a few weeks. You could see red feathers when he would fly, we knew it was him, Not many times will they eat and drink being injured. This one had a good ending.

Last spring, in my backyard, this little guy was going to sleep on a flower bed 4x4. He would have gotten eaten at night. His parents left him there for the night, he was already sleeping, so I went out and brought him in, fed him, played with him for a while, then put him in a shoe box for the night. I got up at 6 am to return the baby jay to where he was, and the parents spotted me holding him, one flew into the back of my head, lol. I think he ended up making it, there are 3 jays at my feeder. Lol
