Help figuring out what kind of bird is right for me.

Next year I'm moving to the PNW and into a much bigger house. A year or two after that, I'm thinking of getting a parrot. Just not sure what type.

Here's my wants/needs.

-Likes to be handled and touched.
-Not insanely loud.
-Not really bitey.

I'll be either getting the bird from a breeder or a rescue, but whoever the bird MUST be hand raised and I would like to know its history.

I know I don't want a big one like a Macaw, but I don't want something small, like a Parakeet (all mine were wild and prone to biting) or Parrotlets (heard horror stories about these). Talking is not a big priority to me.

So, does anything fit that?

The three things you mentioned have to do with how a bird is raised, socialized, and trained, as well as individual personality. You can find birds in any species that fit that and don't.

What's your price range? Space? Monthly bird budget? Time commitment?

What's more important; cuddles? Tricks? Speaking? Noise level? Which is worse; high pitched sounds or grating sounds?

What's your family situation? Ever plan on having a significant other? Kids? Other pets? How much can you have in savings for your bird? How likely are you to have to move? How close are your neighbors? How personally do you take being bitten?

$100-$500. Not sure on space, don't have the house yet. $300. I am disabled, so will have a lot of time.

Cuddles, followed by noise level. Don't want a screamer.

I live with my parents and may have a partner in the future. No kids. Enough in savings. After we get the house I will stay there for life. It will be a suburban area, so close. I don't take it personal, but would prefer not to be bitten.
