Hello to everyone,

I would like to thank you all in advance for all of your help so far, as I have been diligently ready the forums for a few weeks now before this first post. Sorry for the long-ish post, just very excited about the new arrival.

I would like you to meet "Squiggy", our new Quaker baby. "He" (not sure yet) is 5-6 weeks old at this point and won't be coming home for a while yet, as he is still being hand-fed. We visit with him at the shop 2-3 days a week where we hold him and talk to him, bonding with him. He seems to be a momma suck when my wife holds him, always cuddling up and looking like sleeping. When I get to hold him, seems I am the poop target (I currently hold the record for 3 in one visit, LOL), which is fine by me. He likes cuddling with me too, but usually tries climbing up to my shoulder.

His new cage is to arrive this week, and once assembled and decorated with toys and perches, I will post pictures to see what everyone thinks.

Thank you all again for such a great forum,
Keith

First pic is approx. 3 weeks, when we first saw him, 2nd is 5 weeks and 3rd is from our visit yesterday. Enjoy

Welcome to you both! Don't apologise for the "long-ish" post, many people write much loooonger posts;)

Welcome Keith and Squiggy, thanks for an informative introduction with lovely pics! Deep respect for your intense preparation and efforts to bond before taking custody. Feel free to post specific questions as needed!

Welcome! Gosh that baby is cute. I love that you’re getting this early time with him AND that they aren’t sending him home too early, which can be a recipe for disaster. I’m so glad you’re here!

Welcome to you and Squiggy,Keith! what a cute little guy! Wow how fast they grow in just a couple short weeks! Looks to me you're doing good with him by visiting him and interacting. Lots of Quacker people here who I'm sure will be more than eager to help you if you have questions. Remember...the only "dumb question" is a question not asked. Can't wait to hear more about him and pictures are always welcomed!

Thank you all for your warm welcomes and hello's.

We will be going to see Squiggy Wednesday and can't wait to see him again.

His cage came today and is already together, just need to get all the furnishings in place. I have also built him a large-ish perch/climbing area for training and play time, not fully completed yet as my wife wants to add more to it.

I will start a new thread and post some pics as soon as I get the chance.

Thanks again, Keith
