I owned a parakeet 20 years ago. I had been wanting another parakeet for a while but I was having to move a lot. I bought a home so now no no more moving. Been here a while but was in school. I recently graduated and Monday I bought me a new buddy. I named him Ace. He had me worried for a bit but he just started eating so all is well for now.

Hello, I am new here also, I'm near Dallas TX. I have ten parakeets, have bred two pairs and raised 11 chicks. I would like to meet other bird lovers in my area. I have many questions about how this site operates so I've been looking around and trying to figure it all out. I am on a couple of bird pages on FaceBook but I think this site will be more helpful.

I'm glad to hear that Ace has started eating. I know it was a concern for you at first. My budgies did the same thing when we first brought them home. I absolutely love Budgies. They're cute, funny, entertaning, did I mention CUTE?
