hi im new here..m 25 nd just ended my contract in my work as a nurse.as of now i dont hve any job.lol. i recently lost my 2.5month old nyasa lovebird, dat was 2 days ago, when i accidentally left her outside outside for 1minute thinking that he was already tamed and will go back at my command. she was handfed since she was 2weeks old nd d breeder gave her to me as a gift in her 4weeks of existence. from then on she was raised as a baby, feeding her with birdseed 3 times a day as well as veges and fruits once a day and was properly trained. she already knew how to turn around, wave, retrieve, pick and bring it to me thing, indoor flight recall, nod, target, and talk "nice." i've tried to train him outside 2days ago and she flew from a tree and goes back to me, however, on my 2nd attempt she just flew away from tree to tree and never to return again until now. we've searched for her and talked also from the neighborhood and still dont have news. im still searching for her tnow and never giving up. i also haVe 5 budgies,8months old, 1of which im taming for 5days.anyone of you knows where i can buy blue naped parrot? :green:

Hi crosue and welcome to the forum. Don't give up looking for your bird. I hope that it makes a safe return home.

Hello and welcome to the forum and I hope you find your bird:)

Most of the users on this forum are from North America, Australia and the Europe, I believe. I have met people from the Philippines on several occasions

I know that Birds International, Inc is in the Philippines... Blue napes are on the species that they breed.
Mission

Goodwill Birds (just found this place) apparently also raises blue napes
Welcome to Goodwill Birds Trading -

Probably other breeders but those are the ones I've pulled up. I don't believe Blue Napes are common outside of the Philippines...

BTW, welcome to the forum! Sorry you lost your lovebird! (another species that's not common within the pet trade, the Nyasa) There are still a lot of people who are against free-flight or are very hesitant about it, but it's because there are so many dangers outside and it's harder to protect them if they aren't with you right then and there. From the sounds of it, your lovebird may not have been ready for the out-doors part of it. I hope she's fine! And hopefully, someone finds her!

Next time, you may want to invest in a harness to put your birds into, so that you can train them outside while also being able to safely restrain them. The Aviator Harness is highly recommended, and they even have a tie-out with a long line which can assist with training free-flight out-doors!

thanks monica for the info.. i've already posted a message to birds int'l and i hope to hear from them soon.
thanks for thy sympathy. i havent thought that she'll flew away cause she came back for the 4th time during my training on that day that i've lost her, that was the 2nd session supposedly, two recall in the morning and two in the afternoon . maybe i was too reckless to have put much trust on her. but lesson learned and il be more careful next time. yeah! i'll invest a harness on that case. thank you
