Hello to all!

Glad I finally made it! Both Nicky (my yellownape Amazon) and I are sort of senior citizens and it takes a bit longer to navigate. We live in southeastern Ohio in the hills - very rural. Our family consists of 3 dogs, 5 cats, 1 horse (also senior) and 1 goat. I'll pass over my age, but Nicky is 28 and we've been together since he was 4 months old. Both of us tend to be arthritic . Nick is on Meloxicam right now - I'm hoping there's someone on here who has experience using that with birds. So . . . happy to be part of a new family - a bird family!!!

I've had birds use Meloxicam for short-duration post-surgical issues, but never long-term. If your vet is avian-certified, the promise of such therapy is probably well justified. May have to do some questioning or research to determine whether any long-term side affects exist.
