Hello everyone!
This is the first forum I've ever been a part of and I'm super excited to get involved with this community.
In early March, my coworker Kay brought in her adorable parrotlet, Peapod. My boyfriend and I instantly fell in love with her, even though neither of us ever considered ourselves 'bird people.' She was sweet and cute as a button.
We did some research on parrotlets and decided we were going to get one. Unfortunately when we went to the breeder, none of them captured our hearts and we went home empty handed. A few days later, Kay suggested we go to the exotic bird store and check out the green cheek(ed) conures. She said there was one in particular that was really sweet and cuddly. When we got there, that specific one was sold, but we held a different one. WE FELL IN COMPLETE AND TOTAL LOVE. We put a deposit down and went home to research GCCs. The next day, we brought our little Punku home.
In two short weeks, he's became a huge part of our family and the apple of our eye! The bf, Jonny, and I have become completely obsessed with reading
everything we can about GCC's and birds in general. I've read several of these posts and can't wait to read more! If any of you have suggestions with specific books, videos, etc, please feel free to share. The more, the better.
Thanks for any tips and insight you offer!
Sarah, Jonny, and Punku!
