- I have a 2nd home U2 "Jenny", she's 14 and I have been 'her' pet for the last 10 years.
I have just discovered this forum and I want to say WOW!! Y'all are incredible! Hands down the most comprehensive, compassionate, and involved forum I have found for parrot lovers!
Hello all, My name is Russ, and "Jenny" and I live on the gulf coast with my wife and 6 year old son.
Jen is a 14 year old U2, We have had each other for the last 10 years, she had one other owner, a cab driver, before she came to me. She is absolutely awesome, and we hit it off right from the start! I really do consider myself lucky, cuz Jenny almost acts more like...like,... well like a dog than a bird, lol. She literally follows me around the house, climbs up on the couch and cuddles in my lap. The only thing is, she might be a boy...., she is huge compared to other U2's, not only in height, but she has a big beak too. I don't really care, and evidently neither does she. I'm probably never going to breed her, and I won't unnecessarily have her sexed just to find out. We are happy, that's all that matters!
She has only bitten me 7or 8 times total (all of which were my fault)! She loves peanuts and sunflower seeds (treats) and just about anything else I'll eat. She pretty much has run of the house, and loves to shower with me!
I'll add a photo of her as soon as I figure out the photobucket thing!
Thanks for letting me share, (brag)! We look forward to getting to know you!
