Hi from Cape Town South Africa.

We have a baby Maxi Pionus that we got from a animal lover who's pair had chicks (not a breeder). We realized that she has one deformed wing but love her and are going to hopefully give her a happy life!

We lost our beloved Solomon 5 years ago and decided the time is right. Not to say we haven't had any birds in between, numerous wild injured birds that have been cared for and rereleased and baby sitting in between have kept us going.

We are looking forward to your forum posts and stories as well as advise.

Regards

John and Tana

Hello John and Tana! Welcome to the forums! Congratulations, we'd love to see photos of your little sweetheart.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Solomon, the absence of a beloved pet never really leaves you. I'm glad you've opened your heart and home for this little Pionus. Looking forward to hearing about your new adventure.

Welcome to the forums, John and Tana. Thanks for adopting a less than "perfect" chick. They are all deserving of love and wonderful homes.

My condolences for the loss of your Solomon. No doubt the wonderful memories have encouraged your continued association with birds.

Welcome, you two... three!
You sound like a delightful couple... trio!
I'm glad you're here...

Thanks and absolutely, he was a character. The number of times my husband ignored him for 24 hours because he was cross with him, the one specific time when he chewed the front of my husbands speakers. We still laugh about it. We are really enjoying our new baby.
