Hello All,
I live in New Zealand and I have a very good natured 8 year old sulfur crested cockatoo called Triss, she might scream once or twice a day for maybe two minutes total but apart from that is a very quiet bird. She doesn't bite which is great ( I trained her not too ) and is brilliant when it comes to trying new foods. Her favorates at the moment are Jelepenio peppers ( no seeds of course ) and warmed apple and apricot with cinimon - yes she is spoilt
I have also had dealings with Gallahs as my Ex wife had one which unfortunately she had to give up at two years old as she has a physical disability and very weak skin and never managed to break his biting habit even with stick training.
I am looking at in the New year getting an African Grey as well, my two birds will be housed in their own cages and have equal time out with me, I only have to work a few hours a day so can dedicate a lot of time to them and am looking forward to the new addition. I am however looking at changing the door mechs on the cage for the new babe to ones which can be locked so he can't get up to mischeif while I am at work as I know greys are hell of a smart.
Nice to meet you all and hope to be able to provide as much useful info to you as you can me with regard to our fethered companions.
Cheers.
