Pip, a GCC
Hello All.

I just wanted to introduce myself - having just registered on your very impressive site.

I've joined because at the end of March, if all goes well, I should be bringing home a baby yellow-sided GCC, and to say I'm excited at the prospect is an understatement!!

This will be the first time I've shared my home with a GCC(parent-reared) - not my first parrot, as I sadly lost my Quaker last September - so I have a lot to learn, from others' experience and my new friend.

I do have a lot of questions, so will be making the most of all the helpful posts here, and no doubt posting a query or two of my own.

Best wishes.

Hello and welcome! Looking forward to hearing all about your new baby once he is home with you:)

Hi wheels! Congrats on your upcoming addition to the family! I have 2 GCCs, and I love them SO MUCH. A turquoise and a yellow-sided. You will have so much fun with your new baby! I can't wait to see pics of him/her. Yellow-sides are one of the prettiest conure color mutations! Make sure you post lots of pics!

Hello, I've owned a couple of GCC and they're awesome birds. They're very "cuddly" if that's what you want to call it, however they're prone to hormonal behaviors(Esp. Females) so although it's hard to resist, try to keep the "cuddling" to a minimum.

Other than that, they're great birds, very affectionate and fun.

Good luck with your new flock member and welcome to the forum!

Welcome, Wheels. Great forum here. Are you a "car nut" as well as a bird fan?
