Hello everyone. I would like to introduce myself and my fine feathered friends! I am the proud mama to a Gold Capped Conure, 6 years old, male named Louie. I also have 2 GCC's. A male, 2 years old named Flea, and a female 2 and a half years old, named Athena. Athena is a cinnamon GCC. Louie has been with me for two years now, and he lives in a large white cage at bedtime. Any other time he is out playing and exploring whatever he can wrap his little beak around. He isnt very fond of Flea and Athena though, I'm sure its just jealousy. Flea and Athena came to live with me about 3 months ago. They are very vocal and expressive birds. Flea and Athena live together in a much larger parrot cage and they love their toys! They spend their days swinging from their rope toys on top of their cage. On adventurous days they will try and ride around on my cats back, (I guess thats one way to get around!) and the cat just ignores them. Louie on the other hand chooses to stay with mama on my shoulder. Occasionally he will sit on my chest and sqwak at me in order to get my attention. At bed time if Louie is out of his cage he will climb down my shirt and go to sleep. He's a sweet lovey baby. Flea and Athena havent developed a sense of extreme trust with me yet. I can cradle Flea in my hand on his back, and he allows me to rub his tummy. Athena has taken her time to get warmed up to me though. When I first got them I would try to get Athena out of the cage and she would nip at me. She doesnt do that anymore. She has even started giving me kisses! Anyway, I sure hope to make friends and enjoy stories of our fine feathered friends, and also look forward to advice from everyone!
