I am the proud owner of a parrolette named Leo. My daughter gave him to me as a birthday present. She also owns one named Merlin. They are both males and both were hand fed by her. The last few days her little boy ( he's 3) has been plucking feathers, nothing has been changed in his environment. She went on a Bing. com search and the only site that she found said that it could be due to the fact that she is 6 months pregnant. Could someone give us some helpful suggestions as to what may be causing this.:(

i know my sennie plucks and chews her feathers when she is hormonal, just over breeding season, mostly her lower body feathers to start and then across her back and wings, she also becomes super aggressive!

but you need to have this confirmed with a vet, as it could be other reasons, such as diet, mites or illness

its definately pucking?? i ask this as when nut molted this yr, for a near bald bird she lost alot of feathers, bathing helps if this is the case, (but a daily bath is good for our birdies) also no scented air fresheners etc
