Hello all,
as it says in my bio, I am a young parrot owner (21) and I have joined this forum to acquire more knowledge about parrots so that I can provide my two boys (Jojo and Lozi) with my best possible care. My name is Brian and I have been fascinated by birds from a young age. My grandmother was a parrot breeder (mainly lories) and because of her, I have had the opportunity to witness and appreciate parrots for the amazing creatures that they are. My grandmother always told me "a bird is no pet for a child, if you wish to own a bird by the time you're an adult, then maybe you can pursue that desire." She was right, and as I got older I still felt I still had that ambition. Initially I babysat some greys. One in particular will always stick with me, Kiwi. He was a young Congo African Grey and we got along swimmingly. He was my first real experience with a parrot one-on-one and I loved the interactions and relationship we built. unfortunately I was moving around a lot at that time and I could not keep Kiwi for myself. Now, I am the owner of an almost year old black-capped conure and a soon to be arriving 12 year-old African Grey (congo) who goes by the name of Lozi. My conure and I have been gettin closer and closer, the relationship is blossoming. Lozi has yet to arrive and I want to make sure I provide him with the proper care and attention. anyways, that is a bit about myself, I hope to make fruitful connections with many of you on this forum.
Cheers!
Brian
