Hello Everybody!

Me and my husband just go (as in, this evening) a brand new Jenday Conure that we named Marvin. We are super excited, but I'm sure I'll have tons of questions, so here I am!

He seems to be quite content ignoring our two parakeets, and they in turn are happy to ignore him. We live in a TINY nyc apartment, but we're moving to California soon, so hopefully we'll have a little more space for our growing flock!

Yeah, we're very excited. We originally moved from Manitoba CA down here, so we're pretty proficient about moving. This is out first time taking birds though!

what's the difference between a Jenday conure and a sun conure?

Jendays have green shoulders whereas a Sun's are mottled with yellow. There are other more subtle differences but this one is the most noticeable.

My jendays weren't near as loud as my Suns were!

Yeah, I've been around suns before and they were LOUD. Marvin has his moments, but overall he seems to be pretty calm and quiet

Wow really?! If they look like suns but are not as loud then i will have to keep them in mind IF i ever decide to add to my one bird flock! Beautiful bird!
