SassyByrd (DYH Amazon) JoJo (GCC) Betty (GCC) DEARLY LOVED fids lost to “Teflon Disaster 12/17 RIP Pickles (GC),RIP Winston (Sun), RIP Lady PLEASE TAKE 5 MINUTES &TOSS OUT ALL YOUR TEFLON NOW!
Well,

I am kind of a bird newbie. I have 1 GC (Pickles) and 2 Suns (Winston & Kiwi). Just for reference (lol) I also have 3 dogs, 5 sheep, 2 horses and 1 bug (and yes, everyone has a name). Back to the birds.

We have had our ups and downs due to newbieness, but at this point everyone is happy. I have solved a lot of issues by reading all of the wonderful posts from very kind and informative people. But, I joined this forum to "bond" with other people with similar interests.

I also feel that to really love birds and to provide them with a good life you almost have to be crazy, or at least that is what others in your life feel about you. So, providing and receiving support from others who "get it" is exciting.

I look forward to getting to know you all.

Jen C.

I love your forum name!!! Welcome to our world :)

Hello Jen and welcome! I have a dog named Winston (Churchill), but we call him Church:)
I'd love to see pictures of your feathered and furry Family members! (And the bug! What kind of bug and what is his (her) name?
I agree about the crazy part, everyone I know thinks I am a lot bit crazy when it comes to birds:) Luckily my hubby is as crazy as I am so it works out:)

Thanks for the welcomes! The bug is Daryl (now Darylette) and she is a Malaysian Shield Mantis. I will have to post pictures soon. Can you post videos on this forum? My Sun's are so funny playing! You would think they were puppies. I kind of worry if this is normal (they wrestle and roll and somersault then head bob)? They will play like this occasionally between themselves, but mostly with me. When we are all on a flat surface they "go on the attack". It has never been aggressive at all and it seems to help our bonding but as a newer conure owner I just am not sure. Thanks again!

Hi Jen, and welcome. :)

Yes, you can absolutely post videos on here. You can either upload directly to YouTube and embed a link, or you can upload onto Photobucket and attach the link.

Wait, I think you can use 'shutterfly', too. (At least I think that's what it's called )

Can't wait to see pics of your gang, including the Mantis. AWESOME!!!!

I just googled pictures of your Mantis and WOW!!! How amazing! I can't wait to see pictures of Darylette herself!
I have to ask, was she named after Daryl on TWD originally?

Your Suns playing sounds normal to me, since they are not aggressive doing it.
