Heater noise

I was wondering if anybody else has that problem. We have a forced air heater in our home - it's only a couple of years old and in my opinion doesn't make much noise, but my birds start chirping every time it goes off at night! I cannot tell for the whole night, but until around 1-2am when I go to bed they do chirp, even if it's dark... Their cages have dark covers and they usually sleep very well when we still walk around or cook in the kitchen, but the heater always wakes them up. There is no way the draft from the heater can touch them. One of my budgies often just cannot stop and can chirp for an hour or two well past midnight. They are still very active during the day - they have their little naps, but most of the time they play and fly around. Is it something to worry about?

Look carefully at both ends of the blower shaft, some are sealed permanent self-lubricating, but some need to be lubricated on a regular basis.....if the bearings need to be lubed, either do it yourself, there will be a little tube looking aperture with a little flip cap on top of each shaft bearing and will require several drops of 30 or 40 weight oil to re-wet/lubricate the bearings.....if you can't find any lube/oil caps, your blower may have sealed bearings, in which case they'll most likely need to be replaced...or...maybe your blower will need to be replaced, which will require the services of your favorite heating & air service company.....there's a good possibility your guys have warned you of some forthcoming blower problems.....remember, forewarned is forearmed or are you not a reader of historical proverbs ? ? ?

As I said the furnace is almost brand new and has been checked by a pro regularly. It's working perfectly, but any hot air blower makes some noise. There is no any problem with the heater, but my birds who are too sensitive to it's noise. I'm a musician with very sensitive ears too, but it doesn't really bother me and I sleep through it at night. I just wonder if it's a problem for the birds to be waken up by the heater at night every once in a while.

Your system may well have an inherent noise, but I have also seen systems that were less than a year old leave the factory dry & have to have the blowers replaced.....if you have not had an annual service performed, theses are normally covered under the system warranty.....not saying you've got a problem with your blower, but there are anomalies.....
