right now he loves me.

I have been having so much fun with my new guy Jingle.
He is getting better about the macaw lunge when I go into his cage but I am very careful and I always say to him what I am going to do inside his cage (usually it's add some food or take away a bowl). :D

I still haven't figured out what he says all the time. It sounds like "wicked".
Then yesterday I was wondering if it was "flip it" because after he said it he kind of flipped onto his back. So now he lets me lay him down on his back and scratch his head. :)

Yesterday day afternoon he destroyed the zipper on the shirt I had on. Its okay - I'm not upset with him. I can sew a new one on but it's probably not a zipper I would ever use anyway.

I am having so much fun bonding with him. He's getting around quite fine...climbs everywhere but on his Java tree. Wants nothing to do with the Java tree. HATES the Java tree.

Sunday evening I had him on my lap and the cat next too him. The cat kept playing with his tail...and he didn't mind. It's not something I encouraged but I did let things happen to see what the other one would do.

The cats either run away from the birds when they are on the floor or make a wide path to get away from them. Again - not something I'm encouraging but something that is just happening and I'm watching it...cause it's interesting.

Thanks dopey, my cats are still trying to figure out my Hahns macaw, the other day I had a cat on my lap and my Hahns macaw on my shoulder, my Hahns walked down my arm and looked the cat straight in the eye, then the Hahns climbed on top of the cat and was digging into his fur, the cat liked the back scratching but decided after a couple of minutes to jump, the Hahns jumped as the cat jumped and all landed safely,

Oh my gosh! That is so great to know. I wish I could trust them but I don't. :( But I do watch their interactions and it is fun. And it makes it nice that I can have them on the couch together with me.

Zilla always tried to "taste" or "preen" Simon, but all he sees is an open beak coming at him! He steers pretty clear of her and her beak! And if she gets loud he runs to hide under the bed.

Wow - I'm not to the place where I would trust my Zon's with my cats. But then again I don't trust my Zon's with me yet either. :D

Oh yeah, all cat/bird interactions are supervised, but funny to watch the relationship grow

I just hit the "jackpot" with Zilla. She came to me already bite pressure trained, startle trained, cat & dog aware (not scared of or intimidated by them) and I have been able to handle her and interact with her from day 1. Even when Mr. Towel had to wrap her up for medication twice a day she never hurt me, and I had only had her 10 days when that started.

I'm sure things will be harder with Bean when I bring her home! She is not bite pressure trained and has left marks on Brian (the owner of the bird hut where she is)

Ouch - sorry for Brian.

Whisper is doing better and Patches is getting worse. It's okay. They watch each other very closely and keep an eye on Jingle.

I don't want to say you got lucky with Zilla. You two have been through a lot together. I say that she loves you because she knows that you know she isn't a cockatoo!! :D (sorry - I couldn't resist.)

Jingle is really a sweet bird. I will keep watching and working with Whisper and Patches. As long as they can stay on the same play stand...I'm happy.

We have been through a lot, but I did get lucky! :D I got an AWESOME little bird who shows me how much she loves me every day!

She got lucky getting someone who knew she needed specialized avian vet care and medication, the "right" diet and lots of love!

I would have done everything for her even if she had ripped me to pieces every time I had to go near her. I'm glad she didn't, but I would have done it anyways, she deserves the best I can give her.

And yes the minute I saw she was a little green bird I knew she wasn't a cockatoo...LOL I still have a good "chuckle" about that every once in a while!

I think we need some pics of you and Jingle:D He sounds like a real gem of a bird!
