I'm sorry I'm not very good at forums, so this may seem a little weirds, but I was just wondering seeings how I am no longer introducing myself, and am now moving on to the next step should I start a new thread?

I was wondering if I could get help finding two things like I said I'm still a bit new so bare with me. First could you tell me where the Mugshot thread is? and two could I get help findiing a Sun Conure for my fiancee, and I, that is still being hand fed, and male if possilbe, though it doesn't have to be that exact sex.

You could try Craig's List, but thats iffy, I've had good luck with Ebay Classified's which is different than the regular ebay, they allow live pets and its not an auction site, many breeders advertise there so it may be worth a shot :)

You could Also look at local rescue program although if you're specifically looking for a sun that will probably not work. You should check out local exotic bird store (rather than general pet sores) because they might be able to get you a hand fed through a breeder. Did you have a second question?

it's really a shame you don't live in Florida, breeders here have such a glut of sun babies there going for $100 on 2-3 feedings, $150 weaned.

Yeah I seem to live in a tough spot for something ideal. We only have one pet store out here that seels Conures at all, and the only sun there is weened, and is 600 dollers

Here in nz a sun conure baby h/r would cost 6-700
my little Alex baby just cost me $450 and is only 5 weeks old so am still hr myself
if weaned would have been 550

Welcome to the forum!

Cal, my sunny, wasn't hand reared but she sure acts like she from a short 6 weeks down the line! That may help with pricing for you as Cal was £150 but most hand reared ones here are about £300-400. I actually chose her because of distance though lol.

It takes patience and understanding but I love my girl so so much - she's amazing.

That's good to hear all the diffirent reviews of Sun Conures I just don't want to pay 600 that's way out of my price range this Sun Conure is from petsmart, and weened. Seemed to act like it wanted to get away. Anyway I've ben on the classifieds for ebay I found two hits, and I have emailed both to see where that might lead.

Yeah that was my stumbling block for getting a Sun, the only place locally that had one hand-tame was $600, but it was Petsmart and they told me she'd come from a warehouse. o_O / o_O I'm still considering it as she's a TOTAL love and only about 3 months old, but I don't have the $600 to pay.

Sun conures frequently show up on Craigslist, but few of those are young (most are a year or two old). I'd imagine you may have to go a couple hours away to find just the right one for you, but based on experience I'd recommend (especially if it's your first bird) getting one that's at least used to hands already. I heart my little GCC but she's very hand shy, probably from being poked and prodded through the bars her entire pet store life. I'm willing to work with her, but wish I could already have myself a little velcro-pet. YMMV, especially if you don't mind waiting and taming your pet yourself (I'll admit, it's nice bonding with her by just chit-chatting through the bars).

I got a response from Ebay Classifieds the person got back to me, and has two Sun Conures that are being hand fed, and that I can call back for more information.
