Have more than one BHC?

I know that BHC are birds that live in flocks - particularly in family groups of 10-30 individuals occupying a "home tree". My question is for people who started with one caique and ended up getting one or more additional caiques later down the road - did your original bird seem happier with the addition of new family members?

My hubby and I adopted a 2 yo female caique very recently. I am concerned that I think that she may be a little bit depressed due to being lonely. She doesn't play very much and spends most of her day sitting on a sundeck perch watching the wild birds feed outside. We took her to the vet today and she really perked up when she heard some other birds in the room adjacent to us. I just confirmed that she didn't live with other birds beforehand, but I just really sense that she may want a companion. Adalee passed her physical, but the vet still wants to make sure that she doesn't have anything that she is hiding from us. We have bloodwork due back at the end of the week....:41:

Of course I need to wait to confirm that she is healthy before making any decisions but I wanted to hear some opinions from other caique (specifically BHC) owners....

Thanks guys!

I started with Cha_Cha and had her for several months, then quickly began adding to the flock. Mine are WBC's and GTC's but all experts agree that there is very little beheavioural differences between the sub species.

Now I have 8 caiques. There have been very few issues

BUT
a) Cha_Cha is very bonded to me and doesnt care how many others come along as long as she gets ownership of my right wrist lol
b) Very Important. All mine are quite young. Average age now 11months

If you want more than one caique, better to organise it while both are young.
