Parrots
5 Parrots, 8 year old Blue-fronted Amazon, 2 1/2 yr. old African Grey, 2 3/4 year old Senegal. 5 month old ekkie, 5 month old Albino parakeet. Major Mitchell Cockatoo, passed away at age 68.
Greys are fascinating birds....found this Very small comb from a Barbie set
and imitated combing my hair and face...Gave it to Greyson and He took the comb and mimicked combing his face and head, moving his feet in a combing fashion. he watches me shave so he's picked that up as well.

Quite hilarious, now I just say "ok comb your hair and shave your beak" and he dose it with a comb.

I'll get videos of this, bear with me as both legs are wrapped up and healing from being hit broadsided. Not easy to get up and walk around yet.
But promise I'll post a video of it.

That's gold! Can't wait to see it! No pressure ;)

That's brilliant!

My Gonzo watched me drink out of a cup from Wawa with a straw, he tried to stick his tongue down the straw to drink, had to tell him he can't because he doesn't have lips! So then he started pulling out the straw from the cup and licking it (it was only lemonade) and eventually he learned to get the lid off after knocking it over and spilling it all over the place. So now he just pops the lid and goes to town if I look away for even a nanosecond.

Please please please please PLEASE get a video!

Ha ha haaaa...That's funny, no lips. My grey would love to borrow my lips if he could. He dose the same thing with morning tea, sticks his head in, makes a slurping sound then goes ahhhhhhhh. Copied that as well.

Straws in a cup are fascinating things for parrots, My BFA loves straws.

It's even funnier when I'm drinking and Gonzo burps, when we first got him, my boyfriend didn't believe me that it was him! He'd turn to me and I'd say "It was Gonzo!!" "Suuuuuuure."

Sometimes it's a little burp, but others it's a nice big burp! He makes gulping noises too, and I'm always thinking, how the heck do you teach that stuff!

Greys are ones that particularly study you in every way. They can copy, mimic precisely in same manner and tone as another person. Greys can learn things incredibly fast, usually on the first try. You don't have to spend days training a grey, They have it down usually on first try.

Tell me about it! I've only had him a few months and he copies me as I'm saying things and talks in my voice as well as his previous owner's. Confuses the heck out of my mom because she thinks it's me talking!

Aaah that is so cute! Can't wait to see the video, when you get to it of course. My new grey is trying to learn to whistle Row Row Row Your Boat, but instead he usually ends up making the alarm system sound from the nature center he came from! Yikes.

He also knows the difference between left and right.

Promise I'll Get a video, tough to get around at the moment, but working on it. I did record some video today, but Greyson had a bit of an attitude
problem today. Kept throwing his comb down. Ooooooook I thought, well I'll pick another day for that.

Another video I'm working on is showing that he knows left from right. I have him lift his left foot and give it a little kiss, then ask for the other foot, the right foot, he puts the left foot down raises the right foot for me to kiss.
