Hatred for Tissues and the remote..

Well "Blue" my beautiful Sun Conure has decided that I am not allowed to use a napkin or tissue. She will lung out at aggressively attack the paper. It is not a playful attack I think. It is a mean and nasty attack. She will even go after my hand because I am holding it.

She does the same thing with the TV remote. If I reach for it she will scurry down from my shoulder and bite my arm..hard...

How does one go about countering these issues? I would really love to use a tissue or napkin instead of my sleeve LOL.

Mishka also lunges at the tissues, not playing at all.
When using a tissue, I always walk away, got no other oprtion.

Perhaps Blue does not like you watching TV

It sounds like you just described my Niko. When I cuddle with him on the couch, I best not DARE to reach for a tissue or the remote - he, too, gets REALLY agitated and angry.

One time he had climbed off my lap and walked to the other side of the couch, so I quickly grabbed a tissue to blow my nose, and as I'm blowing he came RUNNING back to me, beak wide open. I literally jumped off the couch to finish my business.

With him, I know he wants undivided attention, nothing else allowed. I am hopeful that he'll grow out of it though, especially since I can't keep replacing the remotes. :54:

That is SO FUNNY. I never had a bird like that but my dog from 1996-2010, who was a perfect prince of a dog, except if i held a paper towel!! LOL He always showed his teeth and was so scared of paper towels.

Need to teach mishka to say run mommy lol

She watches tv also. Been watching star trek tng, and voyager season and she is starting to chirp the opening theme songs

Mine are killers of Mouse and Keyboard!!! I can't get ANYTHING done on my laptop or the office with them. They always fly over and go full on KILL MODE. Apparently I'm cuddling with another 'bird', in their minds.

These stories are too funny to read, I love it! My Charlie does the same but with my cell phone. I cannot have my cell phone near him.
