Has anyone bought this "Walcut" Aviary?!

That aviary looks sweet! I wish I could get one for my cockatiels. The only thing that I'm not sure of is that it doesn't have any cover, no roof for shade or anything. But I see you live in Canada, and not Florida where it would be a huge concern with too much sun all day every day. Also, if you click on the other model, the two look significantly different. THe one pictured on the grass just looks poorly built, but is somehow more expensive than the first one. Hmm....

I don't know the first thing about aviaries, but that looks like it is meant to be pinned to the soil. I think an aviary is supposed to have a solid base (not soil) to prevent predators like snakes from getting in. I don't see how that secures to cement. Damned if you do and damn d if you don't??

That looks really nice! You could easily set up a simple thing of pavers to put it on, but I would also stake it down in place! If you were going to be mounting it on an existing patio, then just use sandbags to tie it down

I bought this but requested a refund. It was a pain to put together, also the wire panels are very rough. I was terrified they would cut up their feet. I would say pass on it.

I was thinking there has to be a reason it's so inexpensive. That's the price of a cage not an aviary!

Should be mounted on a solid slab. Predators such as wild dogs could easily dig under the perimeter or tip it over. Also no shelter from above. Keep these things in mind. Otherwise you will be providing lunch for other wild animals. Of course this depends on where you plan to install. Good luck.

Darn it ! I was thinking about this for Salty. Since it would only be for a few hours a day, maybe, and I would move it 1x a week, it would be a great way for him to get sunshine and have more freedom then being in a travel or regular cage. Question: are the cage panels aluminum wire or some other material?
For $297, I would consider adding my labor to clean up bad welds. WHen you say rough, could you explain better? Thanks!

I would totally be happy paying that for just the frame and adding my own welding if possible. Even for the frame, that's super inexpensive. I'm finding it impossible to find reasonably priced aviaries here in Canada.

I was looking at these a couple weeks ago. I read that the wire mesh is aluminum. I also noticed the sharp edges on the mesh when I zoomed in on one of the pictures. Aluminum is soft though. I imagine you could use a wire brush to take the sharp edges off. I'm not to confident that the aluminum mesh would stand up to the bite of a large parrot though. It's a 2 person job to put it together. There's a video on YouTube. I should add that it's not very high. The height dimension they give is to the peak, not the eave. The height of the eave (side wall) is 4.5 ft.

The size was nice. I'm 5 9 and can stand with head room left. The mesh is very rough with sharp edges. Your able to place a small perch but a larger one puts a strain on the panel.
Our Macaw had plenty of room. When I had him in there, I was always right there beside the avairy, keeping a watch out a cut or blood. I posted a picture of my fingers after placing my fingers where their feet would be for climbing. I was not griping strong either.

Oh I see, it's aluminum grill, not mesh. Kind of like a sheet of aluminum with diamond shapes punched out.

If the manufacturer has not done a good job of deburring the edges, these grill panels could indeed be very sharp I deal with metal parts all day long, 38 years of it and have many scars from being cut from metal burrs. It would be quite a job to go in with a Dremel tool and remove all the burrs from each hole, on each panel. Much as I am tempted, I am going to pass. Any other members get one of these, or thinking of it? We all would welcome more opinions!
