Had such a great time at the aviary. The volunteers there are so helpful and informative. They let you feed all the birds and even handle & pet the babies. You could only feed the adults through the cage bars though, but they were still really friendly.
It is at his house..and when we pulled up my family & Ryan all said "What have you gotten us into now", but they really enjoyed themselves and before we knew it, a few hours had already passed. I guess they were expecting more of a 'zoo-like' atmosphere rather than an actual house.
They had 3 hyacinths in the aviaries. But apparently the 'big one' was in the house. They didn't have all of the birdies out because they were breeding of course, but there were still a lot there. Amazons, Macaws, Cockatoos, Caiques, Conures, Quakers, Pionus's, Cockatiels, Senegals, etc. Hmmm...just realized there were no Eclectus's.
I tried to get as many pics as I could, but not all of them turned out too well. It was a pretty overcast day, and on some of them, the flash didn't reach that far. I will post pics on Wednesday though. Sorry for the delay, but that's the next time I will be able too.
I hope that suffice's for now. The whole experience was great and if anyone has any questions, let me know.
