Harness straining relapse

I've had my macaw two weeks now and in the first week I had him I took him outside on the harness 5 times. When I got the harness out yesterday he decided he now doesn't like it and kept flying away or climbing up my shoulder to stop me. I managed to get it on him after a few minutes. We don't get enough good weather in the UK to waste. But now he keeps chewing at it when he's out and puts up a fight when I'm putting it on him.
My mate shown me how his dog he's had 8 years does the same thing and puts up a bit of a fight when he puts her harness on. I'm under the impression he'll never like it and I'll have to just get good at slipping it on quickly. Or clip his wings. Although I'm frustrated he's relapsed on it. There's nothing I hate more than backwards progress. I don't know why this has happened as every other time I got it on him without annoying him.

I'm having the same situation right now, ever since its been getting warmer out she doesn't want to put the harness on, but she let me put it on when it was freezing out.. Go figure!!

Still trying to figure out why she relapsed....... ) =

Got my macaw back into the harness, just use positive reinforcement. Don't force him as this will likely make him hate the harness even more.. Once you get the harness on pick him up and show him lots of attention and use treats. Just my 2cents.

Here is my macaw Tequi when I put it on the other day.
