Harley is Heaven Bound

September 15th 2010 I lost Harley when my home caught on fire while we were away doing a wildlife rescue. I received a call from my next door neighbor who told me my house was burning and ask where my babies were. The neighbor was able to break my back door and get in and save my dogs but the family room was engulfed in thick black smoke and flames making him unable to rescue my sweet Harley. Harley was a Vosmaeri / Solomon Island Eclectus cross that had only begun taling at almost one year old. He was aying hello/ by bye. Pretty bird, Hi Harley, Ouch, he growled at the dogs and he had most recently said momma. He died from smoke inhalation. He was such a sweet boy and was so good. I miss him so much and don't know how to be without him.

Ekkie, I am so sorry to hear that you lost your baby. I know exactly how you feel. Nothing will fill the hole in your heart, but you will learn to walk around it. I hope he is playing with Gandalf right now, sharing stories about who was more spoiled.

I am so, so sorry for your loss of Harley. I recently lost my ekkie too. They are so sweet and mine was starting to make some strides too, though she was an older rescue bird.

I am sorry about his passing. There is not just a special place for animals but each animal has its OWN special place. I am sure he has a place so special he can see you perfectly. I bet right now he is looking down on you thinking that was my mom. No matter what you will always be his mom. Just don't forget him.
