Happy Hatch Day for Baby

This month officially marks him turning 14 and me having him for 14 years as well. I remember getting him at 12 weeks. He was in a bin at a local neighborhood pet store up front. He was the first one to waddle his way up, looking up at me with his beetle eyes that he still does.

Since 'tiels are living longer these days, I hope for well in his 20s. There has been trial and error with his diet, from being on commercial seeds for the first 10 years (with additional foods though), from then eating pellets and not seeds for a year, to finally eating good quality seed and pellets.

I will have to give him a wellness exam soon especially since he's getting older. It looks like he may still be in his prime. The books have reported only at least up to 15. I don't know how I'll be when "that" day comes...but I'm not thinking about it. I can't. I realize it's just best to live for the days as long as I have, and look back at those times we've had as well.

He doesn't seem at all like he's getting older and even more loving and sweet these days. I'm glad the days passed of those early hormonal years. Our bond grows stronger day by day, even though there are "those" days....

Happy 14th, Baby, and many more to come. Getting a wellness exam never hurts ( well not much) and it is a good idea especially if Baby hasn't seen a vet in a long time.
