Its a noise I make to let him know I am here, but just not where he can see me. So he makes that noise now and I repeat it back or vice versa. Its supposed to replace loud squawks, although his version is loud anyways. I dont care though. Its his first attempt at mimicking anything.

It is a whistle, but he doesnt whistle. He squawks with the same pitch and pattern as the whistle, if that makes sense. Kinda hard to explain. I'll have to record it and upload it here. It might take a while though because Im not sure how to do that.

I know exactly what you mean. Loqui learned how to squawk some barking sounds from my dog. It mostly sounds like a "wowowo" but very birdish, almost not even like a bark anymore, but I know that's got to be where he picked it up XD
