It's hard to believe it's been 7 YEARS since we adopted the little green guy:11:!!! He is a totally different bird today than he was when we first brought him home. Such a loving, social, curious and intelligent little creature he's blossomed into:07:. We will be celebrating his a-day with carob-date-walnut "brownies" (carob is a bird-safe alternative to chocolate and I sweeten with dates instead of sugar;)) and he has several awesome new toys to play with. I will share pics of the 'celebrations' later:smile054: Here's a few pics I like a lot of the handsome birthday boy:D

Sure are happy he found you two. Happy A Day Kiwi.

Well I had to log in to wish Kiwi happy A day! He will always be one of my favorite green men on this forum. Brady my beautiful green girl wants him to know she finds him very handsome with the ocean behind him.:)

Happy Gotcha Day Kiwi!!! I swear, he is just so stunning.

Happy A Day Kiwi. You look stunning in those photos and I cannot wait to see the ones of your celebrations.

Happy Gotcha Day to Kiwi. Those bird-safe brownies sound great. I'd love it if you posted the recipe. Congrats on your milestone. He's a very fortunate bird.

Happy Adoption Day Kiwi! I know mom and dad will spoil you even more than usual today!

Sorry I'm late, April and Kiwi!

The progress you've made in seven years is phenomenal and good reason to celebrate! Yummy gotcha' day goodies, I know Kiwi enjoyed his treats and his special day!

Sadly, it has been so dim and dark here in Portland recently, none of my pictures came out very well:( But the green guy did love his new toys and even ate some of the bird brownie (he knew it was healthy and was therefore suspicious;)).

The toys...

I liked this one best mom (Kiwi is very gently with foot toys so I feel ok giving him certain toys for smaller birds, sparkly ones seem to be his favorite):

Oh, you see me playing do you? Let me immediately scuttle away from the toy and break out in dance for the camera!

He likes the big one a whole lot too. Kiwi tends to like acrylic toys more than wood ones. Not sure why...

We don't use the third dish in his cage, so I always hang a big toy from his platform and he likes to sit on the rim where the dish would go and play:D So funny (you'd think that thin ring of wire would be uncomfy for his feet but he's always sitting on it)!

The bird brownie (I cut it into small squares and froze some to save. i will post the recipe when I have time!):

I haven't been on the forum much recently, but I have noticed you haven't either. Hope you and your flock are all doing well! Kiwi sends happy honks of thanks to miss Brady;)

Happy Adoption Day, Kiwi!

Sorry I'm late with the adoption day wishes, but I'm just seeing this.

Seven years, eh? And what a phenomenal journey. The progress he has made in that time just goes to show what can be accomplished with patience, consistency and love.

I think that what you and your husband have accomplished with Kiwi is nothing short of amazing and, knowing how he started, I take a special joy in reading his updates.

Love the pics, April. As always, I'm struck by the beauty and sheer health of him.
