Oh, I do love that... yes, my dear sainted mother, not a bird-afficionado ever, always referred to the Rb as a Patagonian Condor when telling people about my pet... "Oh, yes", she would say, " it sits right on her shoulder and gives her kisses!", etc., etc. Imagine people's horror. When they might meet me later, their first question would be about my pet CONDOR. Gawd.
You are the grandest linguaphile I know. You unite rap, poetry, etymology and pop culture as nobody else does: witness the Kentuckienne Anthology maintained by the Rival of the Rickeybird!
