RIP Constantine: Jenday Conure
I'm considering a Hanhs Macaw and would like to know if they are as demanding as the larger macaws? The macaw would have a companion ( my Jenday) so he wouldn't be alone all the time and when I'm home, he'll be out with me. Any advice is welcomed! Thanks!

I don't know anything about Macaws, but isn't your other bird normally out with you, when you're home?

Big macaw personality in a small package!!! That's the best way to put it. They're adorable!!!

I agree with Mikey, Hahn's are super cute. They are still macaws though, which means they have the ability to be very loud. And they can be demanding, but so can any bird. They require a large cage, toys to destroy and your time and attention. :)

My Hahn's is my first bird. He is loud.He had some issues because of adoption. At times it seemed like no progress was being made and then he would surprise me with some great advances.

For me it was like we had to understand each other (personality learning curve). It is definately a 1 person companion who will tolerate others. He does things when its his idea or when he just wants to suck up to me.

He sleeps in a 20X20 cage with playtop. He talks now and continualy calls my 2-cats and has no fear around them.

He's part of our family and I'm very grateful to the rescue for saving him for me....

I have a pair. They are going to be breeders (hopefully) & are housed out in the aviary. The male is a real chatter box & repeats almost everything I say. Has a bit of an attitude as well but all in all a great little bird. I have to say next to my Eclectus the Hahn's is an all round fun companion parrot. I know a breeder with 2 young males he is selling & oh boy am i tempted to have another little companion. Regarding noise yes the pair can get a bit noisy but the little guy i used to have was a sweet little thing.
