So I know she is still very young but I want to make sure I'm not stimulating Juno...she will be one in june... I wrestle with her all the time...I will lay my arm on the play top while she is out and playing with my hand raised up...I then say I'm gonna get you...she will proceed to run towards my hand with her brave heart scream...lol... and then we wrestle...she flips on her back and I play with her belly...she seems to really like it...

We play with our little guys the same way. My understanding is that it's ok as long as you steer clear of the vent area. I'd love to hear someone confirm that, though.

I've heard much the same thing; also that roughhousing is a bad idea. Sounds like your play sessions are much like the ones I have with E&H, so I would guess you're okay.

I do the same with all mine.. (1-7 years old)
Two of the LOVE roughhousing and playing WWE challenge.. Pick them up and fake body slam on thier backs then a round or two of finger wrestling. Let them "escape" and repeat until tired. (sometimes it takes a while!)
Love the BraveHeart scream/cheer!!

Dave have you had all of yours since they were young?...I have heard that they can have a mean streak a mile wide but I just can't see it with how cute she is...even when she gets really ticked off she is cute

We do this too! When Greta was going through her terrible twos .Sometimes she would get too excited and her eyes would glow .She would start rocking back and forth .Then LOOK OUT !!! [you'll see :)]

Two since babies, they are sweet as pie (now 1 and 2 years old) Scooter took an instant dislike to our RBC when he came home and has purposely attacked without provocation, he doesn't do it all the time, but we are careful to not leave them unattended when out.

The other two are re-homes, the eldest is the "momma hen" to the others and loves on everybody but has been known to draw blood every once in a while.. It's pretty clear to see when she's "on the warpath" (she gets freaky orange eyes) and we steer clear. She also has a great disdain for only one person and will lash out if he gets close.

Each one is unique, but they all share the love for fun and games with anybody that'll play along!

Eliza was a rescue bird--probably around three when I got her. She will occasionally go into what's known around here as "raptor-bird" mode; as Punkindave says, that's "steer clear" time. (Fortunately, it never lasts long.) I think she might have had rough life, or at least a neglected one, in her youth; she loves me and is the sweetest, cuddliest thing you've ever seen; but she's much more wary of other people, so I'm careful with her around guests.

Henry I knew from when he was a couple of months old. Eliza is definitely the older sister: Henry follows her lead. Of course, he's just a year and four months old, so I haven't seen any "raptor bird" mode from him. I'm kinda dreading the "terrible two's"--he's such a sweet little bird right now, and I'd hate to see that change!

Derek

PS By the way, I hope no one took my comment about "roughhousing" as any sort of criticism. I should have been more specific; what I had read in my research was concerning roughhousing as in bordering-on-fighting with the birds. We definitely have at least one wrestling match a day around here--I really enjoy sticking my fingers in there and giving them belly rubs and scratches while they're both rolling around.

That's the BEST part of these little warriors, they LOVE to play and wrestle! I love it when Scooter is on my shoulder and I rush him with my hand!! He immediately falls over and starts nibbling on my ear (for support) while flailing his feet in wrestling mode!! HYSTERICAL!! One day I'll have to get a video. The best part is letting them "win" and hearing that big, excited "cheer" when he hops up my chest back up to my shoulder!!
