Hahn's Owners - What's your weight?

For comparison's sake.

Pocket weighs anywhere between 138g (after first poop in the morning) and up to 144g in the evenings after dinner. (I think he's nearing 5 months now - so he still has a bit of growing to do anyway)

I've read that they recommend around 160-165g for Hahns macaws - BUT I've also read that the average weight can sometimes be skewed due to some breeders accidentally crossing the Noble (bigger) with the Hahns, so some pet Hahn's are a little on the bigger side.

Also let me know if your Hahns is free flighted or not. I'm working on building his muscle tone with flights each night and he is getting better. I'm so proud of him. He is able to nail his landings correctly about 80% of the time now. (Before he used to undershoot/overshoot or have to loop back around to try again)

130gms as of last office visit. Has been up to 132gms. Vet is never concerned with his weights. 1-1/2 years old now. Prolly male afaik. Also non-flighted.

Our Hahns, Jack is free flighted and weighs 152. There are large and petite mini macaws as with any parrot species. Pocket's health is the most important consideration with a vet check.

Glad to hear that goalerjones.

I spoke with the breeder as well and he's not too fussed. If he gains/puts on weight, then it's fine - but if he's losing then it's a big concern.

This is Pocket after visiting the vet for a social a few weeks ago. While not a full physical check over, he was observed to be healthy. I'm going to be getting some blood samples for him to do a full disease screen to ensure he is completely free of anything (one of my budgies is sick currently - in isolation, but want to ensure that he didn't catch anything airborne).

He hasn't been losing weight which is great. He weighed in at 140 this morning so I was happy with that.
