American Bulldog Mix,
Well I was PMing a member about a cat issue and I don't see cats as too much of a big threat for parrots from my experience, which I shared with the member. However, reading over it I have found that it's a bit weird and decided to share it
I had a a very laid back kitten and a very fat cat who didnt care for our 2 previous birds and 2 pits as well. We'd leave the cage doors open to our previous cockatoo and blue and gold macaw and the only problem was the dogs would eat the seeds out of the bottom of the B&G's cages and if the cages were shut and the cats or dogs walked by our cockatoo she would reach her little claw out and grasp on to their tails and hold on for dear life in attempt to pull them in! Terrible sassy little thing she was! And our pets didnt grow up with either bird. The cockatoo was bought and friendly, the B&G was a rescue and very aggressive, the big pit was a stray for months and months until a neighbor finally took her in and then I took her, and my little pit was a puppy. The kitten was wild when I found her and very scary and the fat cat was just fat and a dog hater.
As you can see they weren't meant for another at all and yet had no problems really.
And now we have Erin and she has a huge tree stand with a ladder and my landlord has 3 mouser cats- 2 adults and one kitten, One adult runs away at the screech, but the bigger climbs half way up the ladders and when Erin doesnt give him attention gets bored and walks away. Then the kitten is real ballsy and climbs up the ladder and walks around the perchs and drinks from Erin's water bowl and eats fruits out of her trough. Very very odd. lol But once again no problem.
