Stopped into a parrot store here in Chicago to grab a few toys and they had one of these beauties.

he was AWESOME! He had a super gentle demeanor. Instantly stepped up, rested one of his feet, started clicking his beak and accepted some neck scratches. I spent about 10 minutes with him, fell in love, thought about pulling out my wallet and then reluctantly set him back down. :(

But, I was really excited to see one up close and he totally made my day.

Today, Uglow and I have been researching them. We've decided that maybe one day in the future, maybe.

We'll see.

Stunning! I love the look of these guys. Do you mind me asking how much they go for in Chicago. Here in Canada I feel our bird prices are way higher than in the States.

Just get a sun conure. Just as pretty, and for the price of one QoB, you can have 10 yellow cuddle bugs :)

He was 3,000. pricey. I think these guys need special permits to purchase across state lines. You're probably better off looking for one locally.

Absolutely, I wasn't even looking for a new bird. Uglow and I have a good thing going these days. I have no desire to disrupt that. It was just really cool to interact with such a rare beauty.

Oh yeah, Importing a bird across an international border is even more complicated. I wasn't planning on purchasing one, I was just curious. I saw one for sale here for $5000 and just wondered if they were as expensive down there. Thanks!

Wow ! So pretty [and rare]. Ive met one she had the best disposition:) Id save for one :)
