Hello everybody, I just got a green cheek two weeks ago. This is my first conure. I raised parakeets for close to 20 years in an outdoor aviary but eventually took a 10 year break from birds. My conure, Larry, was born March 15 he is still very young. He was hand-fed and is pretty tame, finger trained, walks around on my shoulders, comes in & out of his cage on his own and also steps up when I hold my finger in the cage. He will lay upside down in my hand and I can touch him everywhere. He has been an extremely fast learner. I am hoping he will learn to speak a few words some day.
Larry will stay in the house with me as I have no plans to breed birds again and I crave the companionship.
