Hi everyone!
My name is Viivi and I live in Finland, so yes I'm Finnish, and I have parrots. I don't know how many of the members here are from somewhere else cept USA, it would be fun to know. If you're already wondering my relationship with parrots I can say right away that yes, owning parrots here in north is odd. I don't know a single friend or relative who would own parrots, and the parrot community here is awfully small. The reason why I signed up to this forum is my lack of taking care of my birds for at least the past 7 years (my mother has just feeding them and cleaning their closet cage). I've felt horrible guilt for not being a good bird owner, and right now, after my parents' divorce and moving in to a new home with the birds, I've decided to make my birds lives at least tolerable again.
I could babble on and on about my birds history and how we ended up getting parrots in the first place, how I grew up with them and the many losses we've faced, but I guess there is a time and place for that later (if one would occur).
Anyway, I'm super happy to finally have the time to put some effort in my birds well-being and getting to know the real life of a bird owner. Cheers!
We also own a cat and a dog, Kisu and Don. As you can see, they're pretty laid-back.
