Chubby - Pineapple GCC // Furbie - Rest In Peace my little baby <3
So as you may know I've gotten my new GCC Chubby. I think I'm a little paranoid because I recently lost a bird, but every little thing makes me worry.

When I got Chubby his poop was runny, the vet said it was because of the 10 hour plane flight plus the fact that he had been eating a lot of mango and corn.

So today I didn't feed him fruits, and his poop is now solid and normal in consistency. However, his poop varies from a very dark brownish green to an almost pea-green color.

I switched him from his normal food because it had dye in it to a new food. The pellets are dark green (a little lighter than spinach colored), and brown colored. Today he has eaten his pellets, millet, fresh broccoli and a few snow peas. Could this be a result of the green foods he is eating?

The urates are white, which is normal, and the urine part is clear which is also normal. He has a big appetite, is drinking his water and is playful.

I'm just worried because I read online that any shade of green dropping is bad.

Bert has green poo too! He eats Vetafarm Nutriblend pellets and once I changed his pellets to a different brand (the pet store were out) for about a week and it changed his poo to brown, when I got his usual pellets again it changed back to green. Bert also eats a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables of all different colours.
Side note: His poo is also of normal consistency, urates and urine also very normal and healthy. He has a very healthy appetite and is a very active happy chappy! So I am not at all concerned by his green poo, I actually think it's funny that he's a green parrot that has green poo's :)

If you did an immediate switch to new pellets this could also stress the digestive track. It is always best to gradually change a diet. The pellets will definitely change the color of the poos. Chubby is most probably fine. :)

The color of what goes in definitely affects the color of what comes out. My little Echo was pooping purple yesterday after I fed him a blackberry.

For your piece of mind, why not stick your little fellow on a consistent diet (same pellets, same blend of fruits and veggies, no new foods) for a few days and watch him to see if his poops remain a consistent color and shape on that diet? If they do, all's probably well. If not, time for the vet.
