Green Cheek Conure
The history of Green-cheeked conures
The Green-cheeked conures have been kept as companion or farmed birds for decades. Documents attest to their captivity since the beginning of the 20th century. However as the adventure gradually turned from the menagerie into a serious “hobby”, the Pionus have long been ignored by the majority of poultry farmers. From 1980 there was a positive explosion of interest in keeping and raising parrots. During this period, techniques for the success of captive breeding made a big leap in their efficiency and allowed an increase in the breeding of many species.

Thank you!
What I search for and never find, is documented behavior in the wild, food choices, roosting behavior, flock size and dynamic. Why do they hsv such large eyes for their size? They seem more fruit driven than other parrots I've had. Abd what up with you he conure bleeding syndrome...so if you are able to find more great stuff like you already have I would love to see it?
There seems to be less scientific research on these wonderful parrots than other species.
