Hi everyone :)
Are a green cheeks blue flight feathers visible when they grow in?
Right now Larry's wings are clipped which is how I received him when I got him.
All you can really see is green, except when you look underneath his wings the blue is visible.

Yep they will be when he gets the new ones:)

They'll grow nice and long and slightly overlap when they're at their full length. It's such a gorgeous blue to look at too. :)

Speaking of feathers... Do they need to actually drop their feather in order to get new ones? Both of my gccs were clipped when I got them and they haven't grown at all that I can see. Also, Monte has broken most of her tail feathers and has no new ones growing in yet.

Oh wonderful! I can't wait to see Larry with his blue flight feathers.
Larry is going on 16 weeks of age. Approximately how long should it take for the flight feathers to grow? I can see how they were clipped about halfway.

Good question Montesmom, sorry I can't help you with an answer to your question about feathers, but I will keep checking back hoping someone here will have an answer.

You'll have to wait for his first molt. It should happen sometime between 5 months and a year.
