On Wednesday night I noticed Lily's mouth was overly swollen and when I checked inside I found some white puss on her gums. So called Thursday when I got up to make an appointment for her and got her in that day. And after $300 I get to have the fun of wrangling her every day cleaning the wounds aaannndddd giving her two shots every other day. Have you ever tried to give a snake a shot so difficult. She either bucks the needle in too far, starts bending the needle and you have to let go before it snaps, or jerks it right out...the whole time moving all around trying to get away. Takes 3 people to get it done. I keep asking who wanted the big snakes exactly...and she's only going to get bigger!
The day of the vet after I got home with her. She was poked and prodded at the vet and given two shots. When I got home I poked and prodded her more to rinse off the wound with betadine.
Her after the rinse hiding...she was so done with us.
This was last night. The swelling already went down and I was able to clean some of the puss out since it was starting to push out as I was messing with her.
Before the cleaning last night.
After! Looking better already. Her culture comes back Monday most likely and I'll be either picking up the rest of her antibiotics or getting a new antibiotic for her.
