Got some potential bad news. UPDATE!

Little down today. Have never posted any personal information on the Internet before. The 2000 century has not been very good for my family.
My father in law, who was like a father to me passed away at 55 yrs old in 2003.
My little brother, my best man, was killed in a bad motorcycle accident in 2003 in Florida. He worked for American Airlines and was a mechanical foreman. At 23 yrs old was an absolute genius on jet aircraft thanks to the Navy that taught him well. He was on his way to making something of himself.
In 2007 my niece passed of a rare form of abdominal cancer at 23.
Now in 2009 my grandmother of 92 yrs. Passed on Xmas eve in a nursing home of severe dehydration.
Today I have just found out my other 14 yr old niece has a tumor in he lymph node on her neck. They are going to biopsy Monday.
I don't know what I can do if it's cancer. Ihave a bad feeling. .. just can't believe this can be happening all over again. How do you comfort someone who watched her sister wither away, from this horrible disease?
Makes me worried about my son. Even though we have no history of cancer on my side of my family. Thank God for that. Life is precious, you never know when your numbers up.
Hard to understand this.
Thanks for letting me vent a little.

Craig, I am so sorry for all the loss you have suffered in the past few years. I am praying for your niece that this will be benign.
Sending you hugs, and strength.
Please let us know how the biopsy goes, and take care of yourself as well...

Craig, I'm very sorry to hear you're faced with this sort of worry for yet another loved one. I hope and pray for you that this is benign, and if not that it was caught in time to be treated successfully.

I guess it wouldn't be as bad if they were able to live longer. Maybe they're work was done? Too good of people for this life? This is how i taught myself to deal with it. Grandma lasted the longest, but I didn't think she was a ..... unlikable person. ;) My mom expected G'ma passing, and so did I. Just not the being neglected at Xmas part!
Mom still cannot look at a picture of my brother. Your not supposed to outlive your kids.
She is comming around and has renewed her faith.
Everything happens for a reason? Still can't quite get my mind around cancer and kids.
I know we're not the only family dealing with this crap. But why kids, why so often anymore? Is it always been like this, just not as talked about before internet and lower population?

That's got to be so tough when it's your own loved ones too. Oh your poor mom. I can't even imagine. I'm glad she's getting some strength back again and a renewed faith.

My guess is that it is more commonly heard of and seen these days not only because of the population increase, but with modern advances it just means more chemicals, more pollutants, more processed foods, not to mention new strains of virus and bacteria, and maybe even many new types of carcinogens in our environment that were not even completely aware of yet. A lot of it also has a genetic base I believe. Some people maybe are, like you say, too good for this world. It's just too bad. Hang in there.

The world is broken in many ways, as said above, and i believe there is a lot to that. Bad things can be used for good, but that doesn't take away the fact that they are bad, and they wreck us. I will be praying for your niece.

Craig, I'm so sorry for the pain and terrible losses you've suffered. I wish your precious niece and her family the best possible outcome.

Very sorry to hear of your family illnesses and losses, Craig. I hope your niece receives positive news that her tumor is benign with a swift recovery.

I have the utmost respect and admiration for aircraft mechanics as was your brother. They are the unsung wizards that keep these incredibly complex aircraft safely aloft!

The best way to comfort someone is to be positive and strong. To me things happen for a reason, if it's my time to go so be it. Have to make peace at some point. I know it's easier said then done as it gets to that point. Cancer does run in my family as I lost my father to stomach cancer back in 2003. He was in his early 50's.....

I do hope the test results come back to be something that's easier to treat then cancer though, it's a harsh thing to go through....hope for the best for you and your family!!!

Thank you all for the prayers and support, I truly appreciate it. I will post the outcome of the biopsy.
Bless you all!:)

I'm a little late here, Craig, but I'm so sorry for the losses you and your family have borne. I know how difficult it can be. I've lost my father and three uncles to cancer alone. I've developed quite the loathing for that disease over the years.

You and your family are in my prayers, Craig. I'll be watching for your update.

Thanks for all the prayers! It worked:)!
The tumor has shrunk, the doctors are going to continue to watch it. They think ot was an infection their tests didn't pick up on!
Bless you all!:42:
