I am giving Kiwi and Tweety away tomorrow. :( I really don't want to, but I feel that they are not getting enough attachion. They only get to spend 1 hour with me each day, for the rest they have to play with toys and etc.

Heres a little info on Kiwi and Tweety and their parents -

I rescued Kiwi and Tweety's parents from a horrible owner that kept them in a cage for 5 years, without ANY human interaction, they were in a tiny little cage, with no toys and was on a 100% SEED DIET!!! It cost me $400 to buy them from the owner, I know that's a lot for two untamed cockatiels but I just couldn't believe the environment they were in, and I will feel guality if I didn't buy them. I payed so much because the owner actually wont give them to me, he told me they were happy and healthy!?!?

After about 3 days I got them, the female lay two eggs. After the eggs hatched, the female was so weak that she died when Kiwi and Tweety were 26 days old. The male wasn't very healthy either so I hand fed Kiwi and Tweety. After Kiwi and Tweety were weaned, I gave the male to my friend that have anther female cockatiel. Now Coco ( the male) is happy and healthy again. I go visit him about once a month. :)

Kiwi and Tweety are now 18 weeks old. I am going to give them to a lady who has 7 other cockatiels right now! She has had cockatiels for over 15 years. I've been to her house and all the cockatiels looks very healthy, she feeds them Harrison's pellet. Which is awesome! I am sure that she will take good care of Kiwi and Tweety and that will be their forever home. :)

I hope Tweety and Kiwi will love their new home! :D I have a feeling they will love being with other cockatiels. It sounds like you have found the perfect owner who has time to take care of them. :D

Yep, they will probably love to be with other cockatiels! I bet they will have a great time there! The lady is one of my friend and I sometimes go visit her, and I'll check on Kiwi and Tweety! :D

Personally, I would never give my parrots to pet shops, they feed them seeds and leave them on the T stand with a few toys. And it might take weeks or even months until they find a good home :( And who knows what their new owner will be like, they might end up being treated like their parents!

Kiwi and Tweety will be gone by tomorrow, I'm very sad right now, but I'm also happy for them that they found a forever home. :)
