A few days ago I ordered 2 items from mysafebirdstore.com. Today 2 boxes arrived. I opened the first one, pulled out the goody bag (who's the candy for anyway?), pulled out item #1, then dug deeper to find item #2. So I've got both items I ordered, plus a goody bag and now I'm wondering what's in the second box. So I opened it up and there was some little mirror thing that looked like a tiny laptop and a bag of Nutriberries. I was thinking it was like a bonus box or something. Then I saw the name on the packing slip and the address. The package wasn't for me. The box was addressed to me, but the packing slip clearly stated that the contents belonged to someone in St. Louis, MO. So I called the number on the slip and explained to the nice lady what had happened. She was so amazed by my honesty that she could hardly contain herself. She gave me 250 reward points on my account and told me how to deal with the package.

That long rambling paragraph brings me to this question: is honesty really that hard to find these days? It's not something I have to work at, it's just who I am and how I was raised. Why was she so surprised? I'm very glad that I made her happy, though. :)

Yes, Honesty is hard to find these days ! LOVE MSBS and order all my stuff from Kathie. Ruby will perch on the box to get first pick of the toys, and she loves to shred the tissue paper it is wrapped in.

I don't think honesty is rare, just that dishonesty is so much more memorable. And most of the time honesty doesn't require effort - it's usually the path of least resistance.

But occasionally you'll get honesty combined with willingness to go out of your way to help someone and that's when you can put a big smile on their face. :)

After working in a bank for 10 years, you wouldn't believe the amount of dishonest things people do. Lol i personally feel as if common sense, honesty, shivalry, and manners are rare qualities in people these days. Sometimes I feel as if I were born in the wrong era.

I agree. Unfortunately, most of the values I grew up with have gone out the window. But then again, I'm old (53) and set in my ways. But I will thank my parents for bringing me up with those values forever!
