last week my friend came to work looking very sad. she said one of her lovebirds (Diablo) flew away when her son opened the cage door while they were on the porch for some fresh air.
they live across the street from a park and they could hear him calling and responding to them, but being tiny and green there was no way to spot him.
the second day they kept Lucy on the porch in her cage to try to lure him to her. they called back and forth to each other most of the day. but still no sightings.
on day three they put Lucy out on the porch again, they could still hear him in the park somewhere. this time she spent the night out there.
next morning there he was! sitting on top of Lucys cage! so they very carefully picked up the cage with him still on top and took it inside. they were then able to put him back inside with his Lucy.
there was joyous greetings, he ate raveonously, and they cuddled for a long nap.
