Good places for bird breeder feedback?

There are a few places I'm looking at that are within driving distance, but they don't even have findable websites. I found their names on a breeder directory.

Anybody had experience with any of these? Or a good place to get information on breeder reviews? I want to call and check bird availibilities but if they have a bad rep I won't even bother. Thanks!

I would recommend any local Avian Clubs or Societies. You'll find a lot of them have recommendations on breeders they recommend or to steer clear of.

If you can't find anything on them, I would suggest call and talk with them. Generally from the conversation, you can gather if the person knows what they are talking about. (Ask questions such as weaning, breeds, what sort of records they keep, feeding information, etc) - Even if you KNOW the answers yourself, it's interesting listening to someone else. If they're a scammer, most of the time they won't bother about answering those questions. Same thing as well for pictures - some breeders will send you progress pictures each week of the bird; so if you check the metadata of the image, you can find out what the image was taken with, when, and in some cases (though, bordering on stalker levels, haha ) where the picture was taken (does the location match the photo?) Be suspicious of any photo that looks old; e.g. "I took this photo this afternoon", metadata suggests it was 2 weeks ago/1 month ago, etc; in which case, disregard the breeder.
