Kizzy - (most likely) female blue-fronted Amazon, hatched on May 1, 2017; Gabby - Male double yellowheaded Amazon, hatched, April 1, 1986; died February 22, 2017
My Gabby bird liked hulled, unsalted sunflower seeds and he was large enough that one sunflower seed counted as a treat. Kizzy is quite petite, so a single sunflower seed would need to be chopped into two pieces. She's smaller than any of my CAGs were. Right now, she's training well on praise, head rubs and kisses, but a favorite treat would help. Maybe I should postpone treats until she's finished weaning? She will be ten weeks old on Monday.

Personaaly, I think this would be a good time to see what Kizzy really groves on as far as treats go. Then,in the many years to come, you'll know exactly what to use to bribe....errr..INTICE her to learn things

When it comes to getting quality seed, grain, nut, etc... mixes, my go to is Parrot Island Inc. located in MN.

osCommerce

From their Home Page, select: Bird Foods, then Parrot Island Mixes. They specialize in Organic Grown from specific farms. Been using their products for a very long time.

When I have a special needs Amazon, they had created mixes for me! Great people to work with! I recommend them all day long and twice on Sunday!

I just ordered from this company for the first time, I was very impressed with the quality products and customer service. More importantly, my birds love the food. Poppy is a picky girl but the flax seed corn chips made her giggle.
