Does anyone know whether male or female conures are less vocal. I read on one site (can’t remember which) that the males are less vocal (the opposite of what I thought. I don’t care about, which gender talks or talks better. Just if there is a tendency in one gender to be more vocal than the other. (I know they are/can be loud), I just want to know if there is a difference generally between the genders regarding how often/how much they vocalize). Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to the forums!

Unfortunately, I’m not sure we have any golden conure owners here except for @Birdman666

And, he doesn’t have a pair of opposite sex as far as I’m aware.

I’m not sure if the vocalization levels are going to be different depending on sex either but some species tend to be that way.

Hi Kim! I am new to this forum also and saw your post. I have one female and two males. All of which I adopted from different environments and backgrounds. Daisy is our female is very talkative. Our boys Chip and Chester don’t talk and make all the noise. LOL. If I had to choose, I wouldn’t be able to because their personalities are fabulous. I don’t know if that is a male female trait, but that’s my experience. I’ve had different wonderful parrots throughout my lifetime and the Guaruba Guarouba species is truly unique and absolutely delightful. I have videos on YouTube when I adopted them if you’d like to see my documented adoptions and how they behaved in the transition. I hope that helps.
