Going to get a baby cag!! (PICS!) I picked!

For the past few years I've been thinking and planning on raising a bird of my own. All three of mine are rescues and rehomes. We have a CAG already, Chloe who is 24, and she fits into our household really well. I dreamed of having a blue and gold macaw because I was raised with my grandmothers 5, but a macaw is just not the right fit, and might not ever be because my fiance is a day sleeper for work and he likes working that shift.

So I've found a breeder with several to choose from but they aren't ready for a few months. I recently quit Starbucks so I needed to cash out my stock!!! I was going to upgrade my 80 gallon fishtank to a 150 gallon, and then I realized....wait a minute....it's my birthday soon...and this is enough money for a grey and a cage........yay!!! happy birthday to meeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Before I realized that, my fiance said he would buy one for me!

I won't be seeing them for a few weeks but I will make sure to take photos of the one that chooses me! I am really excited as Chloe really likes my fiance more than me.

I really hope for a male and I want to name him Jet :) Jetfire for the full name! And I am sure this will probably change as soon as I move the new baby in! I'm a huge Transformers fan!

By the time the baby is ready it will be more of a wedding present since the big day is 8/8/14. So much excitement this summer!!!!

Re: Going to get a baby cag!! (I PICKED HIM!!!!! PIX)

So yesterday I asked my fiance to go and see the babies and pick one. He was then upset because apparently he wanted to buy one for me as a wedding gift from him. I don't know why he blurted out his surprise, well I know he was frustrated because I really wanted to go and see them yesterday. He caved into me and we went!!! They aren't ready for about 4 weeks, which I thought originally I was going to be waiting two months so boy was I EXCITED!!!! We're paid in full and need to start shopping around for a cage. I love the cage I have my grey and conure in but I can't fit it through the doorway without taking it apart. With the powder down I really want a cage that I can scootch outside and wash down every so often.

We picked the baby in the back, I don't think the pics do it justice off my phone but he was younger but larger, broader in the head and darker in color. I am DNA sexing when they do bloodwork before he goes home so I'll know in about a month....wasn't going to have him bleed twice. Hoping it's a boy, if not, oh well! It was a hard choice, they were all adorable, but I really liked the front right as well, and the front left was adorable because she was super complainy and tried using me constantly to get out of the little tupperware!!!

Adorable! Did the breeder have any guesses as to sex? My partner is really good at guessing the sex of CAGs based on head shape.

Congratulations! They're all so cute, it would be difficult for me to decide on just one.

Yes I picked him based on her and her daughters thoughts of it being a male!

Does anyone have any cage suggestions for me that are large but still can fit out a door. Our front door is 8 foot tall so height isn't going to be a problem but it's normal width.

I have two bunnies in my bird room but I really need to leave them in there because I don't want them on the carpet. They shed like crazy and poops get flung out of their box with all the jumping around. So I think the new baby will have to stay in the office area for now? We also have a loft area/family room upstairs but it's much nicer temperature wise downstairs.

This carpet and area was originally for my 80 gallon aquarium but I don't know if I want to move it now since I'll be really busy with the new baby bird =/

There is plenty of room for both a cage and fish tank, I'll just need a larger carpet lol!

OMg I am SOOOO excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
