Well, I'm gonna be gone most of the day again tomorrow, although only like 12 hours this time instead of 36, so hopefully the chicken doesn't get too upset with me. At least it's for a good cause.

The lady that runs the rescue where I got the chicken from needs someone to make a 5 hour trip north to rescue some birds. 9 birds to be exact. And I'm a sucker who has the day off and not much else to do. I'm not very fond of road trips, but I'll do it for some birdies, especially considering the circumstances. From my understanding, the lady who has them just left a domestic issue situation and can't keep her birds where she's at now and wants them to go where they'll be taken care of. So it's either I go get them out who knows where they'll end up.

Plus if I'm going to take a road trip, what better companions than birds?

Well, I guess that depends on the birds. :D

They're all smaller birds. However, I hope I don't have a screamer all the way back. I have never had much interaction with a sun, but they have a reputation...

That would make it one long drive for sure haha. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.

Thank you for doing this! Did you know that one of the common reasons women stay in abusive situations is that they can't take their pets and have nowhere safe to relinquish them? You are helping not just the birds, but that woman as well.

Have a great time, especially when you are doing something really noble. Sun Conure screaming? Oh yes, a very special pitch that you won't soon forget!

Well, all the birds made it back safe and sound. The sun was actually pretty quiet the whole ride back, he made a few small noises, but nothing horrendous.

Those little lovebirds, on the other hand. Oh. My. God. They screeched the whole ride. They were in the back seat, and the sun was up front. There were times he would look at me like "are they ever gonna shut up?"

The rest of them made some noise, but nothing earsplitting. In fact, the quaker pair was so quiet, that I pulled over a couple times to get out and check to make sure they were okay. Although, when we got back, they started making some noise when we got out of the car. Quakers do make funny little noises, don't they?
